Delusional Disorder Isn’t Simply Paranoia

Do you know someone with a delusional disorder? You may think that they are just being paranoid when in fact, they could have a more serious mental illness. Delusional disorder is characterized by a person who imagines certain situations as true although is not. For example the patient may think that the police are after them although they are not. Or they may think that their co-workers are setting out to get him fired although untrue. These delusions may make one react according to what they think is happening. They may run away, hide or become violent as a reaction to their delusions.
